The Horses of CASE

At CASE, we love our horses.  They carry many riders each year, and they can be trusted to care for individuals with very special needs.

The CASE therapy horses are chosen because of they are strong, sound, patient, and kind.  In a typical CASE lesson, one horse will work with a team of up to four people including a rider, leader, and two side-walkers.

Our horses are well-trained to be dependable throughout the games, activities, and cheers that occur during lessons.  It takes a special horse to work in the CASE arena, and we are very proud of our equine team.

The horses are essential to the CASE programs.  They provide mobility, freedom, therapy, and friendship for riders of all ages and abilities.  The bond between horses and riders can be very powerful, as these inspirational teams may spend weeks, months, and even years riding together.

There are currently nine CASE horses who range in ages from 7 to 28 years old.  Some of the horses are owned by the CASE organization, while others are leased from private owners.

Support our Equine Team

Horses are the foundation of the CASE programs, but they are also a very expensive aspect of our organization.  Some typical horse maintenance costs include:

  • feed and board,
  • farrier care,
  • veterinary care, and
  • holistic care - including massage and chiropractic treatments.

The cost of keeping our horses is large, and we look to the public for support.

The Adopt-a-Horse Program is an excellent way for you to support the horses that support the CASE organization.   Your donation will help us to care for the CASE horses and keep them physically fit to care for riders with special needs.

Thank you for helping us to support the horses of CASE!
