Welcome!

During the early part of the twentieth century, horseback riding for people with disabilities was organized in England and throughout Europe. Since that time similar groups have formed in North America. Central Alberta Special Equestrians (C.A.S.E.) is one of those groups. C.A.S.E. was originally formed in 1983 and operated under the name Waskasoo Handicapped Riding Association. There have been many changes over the past twenty years as we strive to meet end serve our clients in a positive and rewarding atmosphere. C.A.S.E. is a non-profit organization providing therapeutic riding lessons to people with disabilities thoughout central Alberta. With every program there are fees attached. Ours is no different. In today’s current social program structure it is becoming more and more difficult for any person with disabilities to obtain the necessary funding supplements which would permit them to participate in and benefit from our program. The effect of the rising costs of health care truly is a key factor. We believe that being part of a caring community - a community that strives to exist as a cohesive group, reaching out to provide support to each other - is the answer to this collective problem. Ours may be the generation of family fragmentation; however, each one of us has the power to help heal this breach and recreate a community built on family unity and mutual assistance. We need your help, our children and adults with disabilities need your help! Please click on the Donations link to see the ways you may help our program go forward.
